Black Ops Xbox 360 Beta Files Leaked!

Activision and Treyarch must be thrilled: the Xbox 360 beta files have leaked on the internet and can be played by anyone with a JTAGGED Xbox 360. Some players have already streamed new content on Justin.TV and posted pictures on different forums. I've downloaded the files myself and they seem to be legit.

Unfortunately the FastFiles (.ff) are compressed with a new algorithm and nothing can be extracted (models, pictures, stats, etc.) at the moment. Here's a picture of the menu.

Black Ops Beta Gameplay Leaked

Multiple Black Ops gameplay videos have leaked on the internet. This doesn't come as a surprise, since the internal beta is being played by thousands of players. Three different maps have been shown: "Cracked", "Launch" and "Summit", the maps themselves aren't new, but the gameplay is. All the videos seem to be played on the Xbox 360 via Xbox LIVE

The L96A1 sniper rifle seems a bit overpowered at the moment, since it's a one-hit kill whether you shoot someone in the chest or the arm. The gun stats aren't final, so we can expect this to change before the game ships. Many of the players on the videos are already pretty high leveled, so they have been playing the internal beta for a while now.

You can select the area that the Attack Helicopter killstreak is deployed to. This couldn't be done in the previous Call of Duty games.

On the "Launch" map the huge missile in the center of the map actually takes off (randomly?), causing the map to shake, which makes aiming a lot harder. Two of the Marathon Pro perk unlock challenges can be spotted on the "Cracked" map video; Marathon: First Blood and Marathon: 26 Miles. Sleight of Hand Pro also has one unlock challenge called Sleight of Hand: ADS Kills.
Activision keeps removing these videos as fast as they are added to Youtube and the likes, so unfortunately they can't be added to the website at the moment.

G4TV "Kowloon" SP and "Jungle" MP Exclusive

G4TV has posted two new exclusive videos showing off parts of the "Kowloon" singleplayer mission and a new multiplayer map called "Jungle", which takes place in a ... jungle. In both videos Treyarch’s Mark Lamia will show off the stunning looking maps with some extra details about their settings.

Both maps seem to be played on the Xbox 360. Check them out below.

New Black Ops Singleplayer Trailer

The new Black Ops singleplayer trailer has aired during the Minnesota vs New York game. If you missed it or don't like sports, no fear, you can watch it below. It also seems that the Model 1887 shotgun is back, at least in the singleplayer campaign, since the player can be seen using one while riding a motorcycle.

Black Ops To Outsell Halo: Reach and Killzone 3

Modern Warfare 2 broke sales records last year and it looks like Black Ops might be doing the same. According to GameStop, the game is already tracking ahead of Modern Warfare 2's pre-orders: "GameStop is tracking to all-time, record reservations on Call of Duty: Black Ops. We are ahead of where we were with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last year, which previously set the industry standard." Modern Warfare 2 had nearly 3 million pre-orders when the game shipped last year. Activision is already investing more money into Black Ops than any other game, so it shouldn't have any problem with the competition this fall and early next year.

According to VGChartz, Halo: Reach sold approximately 4 million copies during its first week, which is about 1 million short of what Modern Warfare 2 did in one day on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Michael Pachter and other market analysts are expecting Black Ops to do almost as good as Modern Warfare 2, thus beating Halo: Reach which is limited to just the Xbox 360 user base. Pachter: "Because it will be multiplatform, Black Ops will outsell Halo Reach. Activision appears to agree with me, and the marketing campaign for Black Ops should be even bigger than the Halo marketing campaign." Although highly praised, last years Killzone 2 failed to meet expectations and has sold only a little over 2 million copies worldwide to date. Killzone 3 won't be released until February 2011, but analysts are already predicting it to sell more than its predecessor and perhaps reaching 3 million units by the end of 2011. That would be about 1/7th of what Modern Warfare 2 did in less than one year and the amount of pre-orders Black Ops is predicted to have accumulated by early next month.

With the lack of major competition during Christmas and already high pre-sales, Black Ops will be one of the most played FPS games on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. If you still haven't pre-ordered Black Ops, do so now to reserve your copy and make sure you'll be playing the game on 9th of November.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3D

Black Ops won't be coming to Nintendo 3DS, but you can still enjoy the game in full 3D glory on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, provided that you have the right equipment.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is capable of displaying the game in active-shutter stereoscopic 3D out of the box, which can be toggled on/off from the Options Screen. You will need a 3D TV/monitor and active-shutter 3D glasses; Xbox 360 users need a TV that supports a "side-by-side" 3D mode and PS3 users need a TV that supports a "top-bottom" or "over-under" 3D mode. PC gamers will need a monitor that supports NVIDIA 3D Vision.
